Greek studio Culturplay are working on one of the country's most ambitious indie projects, and I was brought on board to help with the construction of the game's map. I thus abstracted and re-created the geography and topography of ancient Athens and the wider region of Attica to fit the level and game design needs of the project. In addition to that I made sure things made sense from historical, urbanistic, and geographical points of view.
What's more, the map was then re-modeled in a GIS friendly way, and was partly populated with the data needed to create interestingly strategic gameplay, while maintaining historical and geographical realism.
